When it comes to Gardner, it's a hit or miss for me. This is definitely a hit. Since I'm the farthest thing from perfect, I expect silly mistakes. The only reason I mention this one is because I laughed hysterically.... Too cute how Tessa had to sign forms in the ER for "HEPA" filters to protect her privacy rather than the annoying "HIPPA" forms that we have to. Hahahah

Good Read/improbable Ending

The title about says it all. Throughout the first two thirds of the novel, the plot maintained the suspense and was credible. After Tessa's escape from jail, the credibility declines and the suspense factor does as well. The conclusion, as with many modern thriller mysteries, lacked all credibility. That the Boston PD and a DA bought Tessa's obviously manufactured account of events was completely unbelievable. Would never happen. But well? This is fiction and as such it is good entertainment worth the price and the time to relax, read and suspend, for the moment, rational analysis.

What an imagination!

Well, this marks 12 in a row that I have read of Lisa Gardner. My therapist asks me why I read books with such chilling scenes and story lines. My answer is that Lisa's victims demand my compassion. Her heroes demand both admiration for their determination and their abilities. I feel the emotions she writes about. I laugh, I cry, I am fearful, and I absolutely love the way she ends each story. Some of her stories were close to intolerably violent. This story was as heroic as I have ever read. I like the way she carefully crafted the words her characters used to obfuscate truth without lying to the reader. I like the way she created each character to have both good and bad with one or the other of those traits dominant. It's like any one of them could go one way or the other. The bottom line is that the plot, the characters, the action, and the outcomes all left me very satisfied and looking forward to her next novel. Enjoy!

The bottom line is that the plot, the characters, the action, and the outcomes all left me very satisfied and looking forward to her next novel. Enjoy!

Good Read/improbable Ending

The title about says it all. Throughout the first two thirds of the novel, the plot maintained the suspense and was credible. After Tessa's escape from jail, the credibility declines and the suspense factor does as well. The conclusion, as with many modern thriller mysteries, lacked all credibility. That the Boston PD and a DA bought Tessa's obviously manufactured account of events was completely unbelievable. Would never happen. But well? This is fiction and as such it is good entertainment worth the price and the time to relax, read and suspend, for the moment, rational analysis.

Well, this marks 12 in a row that I have read of Lisa Gardner. My therapist asks me why I read books with such chilling scenes and story lines. My answer is that Lisa's victims demand my compassion. Her heroes demand both admiration for their determination and their abilities. I feel the emotions she writes about. I laugh, I cry, I am fearful, and I absolutely love the way she ends each story. Some of her stories were close to intolerably violent. This story was as heroic as I have ever read. I like the way she carefully crafted the words her characters used to obfuscate truth without lying to the reader. I like the way she created each character to have both good and bad with one or the other of those traits dominant. It's like any one of them could go one way or the other. The bottom line is that the plot, the characters, the action, and the outcomes all left me very satisfied and looking forward to her next novel. Enjoy!

Well, this marks 12 in a row that I have read of Lisa Gardner. My therapist asks me why I read books with such chilling scenes and story lines. My answer is that Lisa's victims demand my compassion. Her heroes demand both admiration for their determination and their abilities. I feel the emotions she writes about. I laugh, I cry, I am fearful, and I absolutely love the way she ends each story. Some of her stories were close to intolerably violent. This story was as heroic as I have ever read. I like the way she carefully crafted the words her characters used to obfuscate truth without lying to the reader. I like the way she created each character to have both good and bad with one or the other of those traits dominant. It's like any one of them could go one way or the other. The bottom line is that the plot, the characters, the action, and the outcomes all left me very satisfied and looking forward to her next novel. Enjoy!

When it comes to Gardner, it's a hit or miss for me. This is definitely a hit. Since I'm the farthest thing from perfect, I expect silly mistakes. The only reason I mention this one is because I laughed hysterically.... Too cute how Tessa had to sign forms in the ER for "HEPA" filters to protect her privacy rather than the annoying "HIPPA" forms that we have to. Hahahah

Good Read/improbable Ending

The title about says it all. Throughout the first two thirds of the novel, the plot maintained the suspense and was credible. After Tessa's escape from jail, the credibility declines and the suspense factor does as well. The conclusion, as with many modern thriller mysteries, lacked all credibility. That the Boston PD and a DA bought Tessa's obviously manufactured account of events was completely unbelievable. Would never happen. But well? This is fiction and as such it is good entertainment worth the price and the time to relax, read and suspend, for the moment, rational analysis.

When it comes to Gardner, it's a hit or miss for me. This is definitely a hit. Since I'm the farthest thing from perfect, I expect silly mistakes. The only reason I mention this one is because I laughed hysterically.... Too cute how Tessa had to sign forms in the ER for "HEPA" filters to protect her privacy rather than the annoying "HIPPA" forms that we have to. Hahahah

Good Read/improbable Ending

The title about says it all. Throughout the first two thirds of the novel, the plot maintained the suspense and was credible. After Tessa's escape from jail, the credibility declines and the suspense factor does as well. The conclusion, as with many modern thriller mysteries, lacked all credibility. That the Boston PD and a DA bought Tessa's obviously manufactured account of events was completely unbelievable. Would never happen. But well? This is fiction and as such it is good entertainment worth the price and the time to relax, read and suspend, for the moment, rational analysis.

What an imagination!

Well, this marks 12 in a row that I have read of Lisa Gardner. My therapist asks me why I read books with such chilling scenes and story lines. My answer is that Lisa's victims demand my compassion. Her heroes demand both admiration for their determination and their abilities. I feel the emotions she writes about. I laugh, I cry, I am fearful, and I absolutely love the way she ends each story. Some of her stories were close to intolerably violent. This story was as heroic as I have ever read. I like the way she carefully crafted the words her characters used to obfuscate truth without lying to the reader. I like the way she created each character to have both good and bad with one or the other of those traits dominant. It's like any one of them could go one way or the other. The bottom line is that the plot, the characters, the action, and the outcomes all left me very satisfied and looking forward to her next novel. Enjoy!
